STAFF APPRECIATION

ANNUAL TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

What is Teacher Appreciation Week?

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Help us celebrate our wonderful teachers and staff the first week in May! Interested in helping out? Join our planning committee here.

Teacher Appreciation Week is held nationally during the First Week of May.

Teacher Appreciation Week is a week held to honor and show gratitude to our teachers. We want to remind them that they are loved throughout the year but, this week is just for them!

As the PTO we assemble a party planning committee, made up of parents who would like to volunteer their time. We give them limitations and a budget and ask them to plan and deliver an excellent week to our beloved school staff and teachers.

Tasks of the parent volunteers typically include: driving, decorating, shopping, securing donations such as coffee etc., creating buzz about the event, and more. No experience is necessary.

Here are the ways you can join in on the fun without being on the party planning committee:

THANK-YOU NOTES:
Please tell our teachers and staff how much they have meant to you this year. Thank-you notes and cards can be dropped off in the designated Teacher Appreciation Box in the front office to be distributed during our celebration week.

SIDEWALK DECORATING PARTY:
To kick off Teacher Appreciation Week we decorate the sidewalks in front of the school the Sunday before the week of the event. Chalk is always provided.

HANDMADE GIFTS:

Handmade gifts bring delight to teachers. They serve as a thoughtful, simple, and impactful way to show gratitude to our favorite teachers.

PURCHASE GIFT CARDS OR WISH LIST ITEMS:

Most teachers will have some kind of wishlist for teaching supplies or other school related items. Most teachers come out of pocket to decorate and stock their classrooms. Ask them their needs and give gift cards using our schools affiliate program so everything goes back to the school!

We send out reminders as we get near our event date for these types of events. Make sure to follow us on FB, read the Schools Messenger through email, and add our PTO Google Calendar to keep up to date.
